About the INSPYs

inspyRecognizing the need for a new kind of book award, the INSPYs were created by bloggers to discover and highlight the very best in literature that grapples with expressions of the Christian faith. We feel nothing compares to excellent faith driven fiction, but it can be difficult to weed through the multitude of books published each year in both the Christian marketplace and the general market to find the very best of them. We found ourselves longing for a way to really bring attention to the books that inspire and move us.

What makes the INSPYs unique among award programs is that we invite nominations from both the Christian booksellers’ domain and the general marketplace. The INSPYs are not about conforming to expectations, they are about faith and literary excellence. Additionally, this program is organized and judged by book bloggers who have considerable experience and knowledge of books published for both the CBA markets and the general market. It is our sincere hope that the INSPYs will serve readers in their search for the very best of faith inspired literature being published today.

We owe a debt to the Cybils Awards for starting a successful and recognized program for book awards by bloggers. We received their blessing to borrow what worked for them and make necessary modifications to suit the needs of the INSPYs.

Could you tell me what steps a publishing house would need to take to be listed? Mountain Brook Ink is a traditional press, and has had authors enter and final in the Carol Awards, the Faith, Love and Hope awards, and win the Cascade Writer’s Award and the Will Roger’s Medallion. Thank you!

Thank you for an inquiry. Publishing houses not listed on the nomination form can be entered manually under the “other” option.

Thank you, Lydia, I did realize that. I’m asking specifically what process we’d need to go through to get our name added. Thank you.
